  • Enhancement projects typically require a single site visit; verbal recommendations are made while on the site in addition to potential follow-up information.
  • New lake/pond development and extensive restoration projects usually require a 3-Phase Consultation Program:
    1. Submit online questionnaire below to determine project goals and objectives
    2. Site visit
    3. Extensive written plan, including estimated costs

Rating Scale: 1-10 (10 being greatest), rate your interest in the following objectives:

Existing Water Body
Has the water body been constructed? If so, what are the problems you are experiencing or why are you dissatisfied with your present water body?
How old is the water body?
What is the approximate size of the water body (length, width, and depth)?
What is the AVERAGE water depth?
Is groundwater present in the water body?
Are fish present in the water body?
Is there accessibility to the lake without damaging the existing surroundings?
Potential New Water Body
Will the project require a dam across a natural drainage or will the project only require excavation?
Have governmental agencies been contacted regarding the project? If so, have permits been issued?
What type of soils is present on the project site? (Clay, silt, sand, or loam mixture).
Has any soil testing been completed?
Are there large rocks, boulders, bedrock, or subsurface gravel strata on site?
What is the source of water? How many water sources are on the property? If applicable, do you have sufficient water rights for the project?
Will the water from the project be discharged to other properties?
Can the water in the water body be used for any other purpose (i.e. irrigation, frost control, cattle water source, wildlife mitigation)?
Is electricity available at the site? How far will the water body be located from an electrical source?
Do you have the financial resources to develop (restore) the water body in one year, or will the development/restoration project take place over a number of years as funds are available?
